Deutsche Messe AG is one of the world’s leading organisers of trade fairs and exhibitions, with over 800 employees worldwide, representation in 73 countries and a large portfolio of leading international events.
Founded in 1947, Deutsche Messe AG is 50% owned by the Government of Lower Saxony, Germany and 50% by the City of Hannover, and has annual revenue of over A$500 million.
Its exhibition facility at its headquarters in Hannover, Germany is the world’s largest, measuring over 1 million square metres and attracting 2.5 million trade show visitors per year.
Deutsche Messe’s leading exhibitions include CeBIT (information and communications technology), Hannover Messe (industrial technology) and Biotechnica (biotechnology). The flagship event, CeBIT, is the world’s largest exhibition, attracting over 495,000 visitors in 2008.
Following global expansion, Deutsche Messe has developed new trade fairs in the target markets of China, Southeast Asia, Australia, Turkey, the USA and Brazil. A number of subsidiaries are located on site to handle the operational side of organising and running these events. The target markets are considered to be international marketing hubs with substantial exhibitor and visitor potential. CeBIT now runs in three locations: CeBIT (Hannover), CeBIT Eurasia (Istanbul), and CeBIT Australia (Sydney).
